Consequences
Myth -- "If I get cancer I would want it to be skin cancer"
- Why this isn't neccessarily true:
- Getting skin cancer does not stop you from getting any other type of skin cancer, you should not want to get any cancer
- Skin cancer can have real consequences
- Melanoma that has grown down into the fat can have survival rates as low as 40%
- All skin cancers need to be treated
- Sometimes skin cancer treatment involves chemotherapy or radiation
- Surgery to remove skin cancer can leave you with scars
